Originally from Israel, Sam’s first career was as a hotelier in Tel Aviv. After meeting his wife, Carmela, the couple relocated to the United States in the early 1980s. Sam immediately secured a job working for a fine jewelry manufacturer and became fascinated with the diamond business.
That job lead to a sales job that had him traveling the country, selling stones to jewelry stores. After he received his certification as a master gemologist, he launched Ideal Diamond with his wife in 1990. Today, the business has multiple offices and enjoys a loyal clientele. In his rare time off from work, he enjoys entertaining friends and family, drinking good wine, and traveling the world.
Carmela helped launch Ideal Diamond with her husband and has worked with him since Day One. While her main role is administrative, she loves design and often helps guide clients through the creative process. With offices in Tel Aviv, Shanghai, and New York, her ability to speak seven languages, though she claims to only be fluent in five, often comes in handy.
When she’s not working, she helps her friends with interior design and does charity work in the Sandy Springs community. She also loves to cook, travel, and spend time with her family, which includes two rescue dogs, Gabby and Charlie.
Sam’s youngest daughter joined the family business in 2014. She says she’s always wanted her own business, and she decided that working for her father would be the perfect business training. Her main responsibility is building brand awareness for Ideal Diamond through traditional marketing initiatives, as well as social media.
A graduate of the College of Charleston with a double major in Art and Jewish Studies, Leeron is now focusing on expanding her diamond education. She recently completed her first diamond-grading course in New York at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). When she’s not checking out diamond trends or shooting diamond jewelry for the company, she loves painting, taking Pilates classes, and exploring the world.
While his background is in economics and business, Tomer says that he’s “always wanted to work in the diamond business.” When the opportunity to work for Ideal Diamond presented itself in 2009, he never looked back. Now, he’ll tell you the best part of his job is that he gets to make people happy.
His main role is being the client contact, from their first appointment to the day they pick up their diamond, as well as continuing to nurture client relationships. Of course, he sees many diamonds every day, but he points to a three-carat pear-shaped fancy pink diamond as his favorite. “It’s just unique,” he says. When he’s not making clients happy, you’ll find him playing sports and enjoying time with his family.
